Chandra J. Hosek
Client Service Director
Chandra Hosek joined The Alliant Group after two years
as a senior account executive with Edelman Public Relations Worldwide's
Texas Technology practice. She has delivered high-impact public
relations services for a variety of technology clients, including
Wayport, ADC Telecommunications, AIR2LAN, JP Mobile, i2 Technologies,
Trilogy, and General Bandwidth. Her experience includes managing
client accounts, handling editorial and speaking opportunities,
organizing media and analyst tours, writing, and research.
Prior to working for Edelman, Chandra honed her skills in public
relations and marketing communications while working for an international
trade association, a big-five accounting and consulting firm, and
an architecture/interior design company.
In addition to traditional public relations and marketing communications
work, Chandra has trained employees in presentation skills and has
more than four years of experience teaching speech communication
skills at the college level. As an adjunct instructor at Austin
Community College, she taught classes in speech communication fundamentals
and public speaking. She was also employed as a graduate instructor
in speech communication at Southwest Texas State University, where
she was voted the "Most Outstanding Graduate Instructor"
by the speech communication faculty in 1996.
Chandra holds a master's degree in speech communication with an
emphasis in organizational communication from Southwest Texas State
University. She holds a bachelor's degree in public relations from
William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. She also completed
a course of study in Oxford, England, through the William Jewell
College Honors Scholar Program.
Chandra is an active member of the Austin chapter of the Public
Relations Society of America, where she currently holds a board
position. In 2001, she served as the programs committee co-chair,
responsible for securing speakers for PRSA's monthly luncheon programs.
For her efforts in PRSA, she was recently awarded the Austin chapter's
2001 "Rising Star" award.
Chandra and her husband, Chris, live in Austin and enjoy spending
time on the Hosek family ranch in Gonzales, Texas, where the conversation
inevitably turns to Texas history, politics, culture, and sports.
